Tools & Services

Reference links for platforms, services, and tools used across BNI operations and development.

BNI Properties

Big Nerd Idea — Public Site

URL: https://bignerdidea.org/

BNI's public-facing docs site. Built with MkDocs, deployed via Cloudflare Pages from this repository.

Big Nerd Idea — GitHub Organisation

URL: https://github.com/Big-Nerd-Idea

All BNI open-source project repositories. MPowerUP, Toaster Chef, Second Boot, wholefolk, rlivn, bni-consulting, and this umbrella repo live here.

Infrastructure

Cloudflare Dashboard

URL: https://dash.cloudflare.com/login

BNI's Cloudflare account — manages Pages deployments for all BNI docs sites, Workers (CMS auth), DNS, and Access (email OTP gating for vault pages). See Hosting & Cloud for architecture details.

OpenStreetMap

URL: https://www.openstreetmap.org/

Open, community-maintained map data. Reference for MPowerUP Phase 2 (location safety features) and any BNI mapping needs. OSM is the privacy-aligned alternative to Google Maps — no API key required for tile rendering, data is CC BY-SA licensed.

Jamstack

URL: https://jamstack.org/

Reference site for the Jamstack architecture pattern (static pre-rendering + CDN + API-on-demand). BNI's MkDocs + Cloudflare Pages stack is Jamstack. Resource for onboarding developers unfamiliar with static-site deployment patterns.

AI & Agents

Meta Llama

URL: https://www.llama.com/

Meta's open-weight language model family. Reference for rlivn's Ollama offline-fallback stack — Llama models run locally on the in-home device, providing AI capabilities without cloud dependency. Aligns with the grid-resilient design directive: the companion still works when the internet is down.

Introduction to Claude Cowork

URL: https://anthropic.skilljar.com/introduction-to-claude-cowork

Anthropic's onboarding course for Claude for Work (Teams/Enterprise). Reference for BNI Consulting's syllabus — the hands-on Claude adoption curriculum for nonprofits and social enterprises includes orientation to Claude for Work as Module 1.
